Supporting your daughter as an international student The Chilton Saint James School community welcomes international students.
Every care is taken to ensure that the students are happy as they settle into life in a different country. All teachers are available to assist students. Several teachers led by Mrs Judy Lang, the Deputy Principal responsible for Secondary Pastoral Care, have the very special task of caring for international students.
Regular information about students and their academic progress is sent to parents and families of all students. Chilton understands it is important for families be able to contact the school easily and fast. This is especially true when your daughter is far away from home. Chilton provides families with as much information as possible about their daughter. Regular newsletters contain information about what is happening at the School. Individual student reports are sent out regularly. The School encourages communication with the senior teachers by phone, email or in person if worries begin to happen. Parents and families are welcome to visit the School.
Chilton Saint James School has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for International Students published by the New Zealand Minister of Education. Copies of the Code are available on request from the School. All international students who come to Chilton are given a summary of the Code. They can see how the Code is written to help them during their stay in New Zealand. The Code can be viewed at http://www.minedu.govt.nz
