Introducing our Principal, Jude Fawcett

Mrs Jude Fawcett has held the role of Chilton Saint James Principal from April 2011. 

Previously she was Associate Principal at the School (2003-2011) and was Acting Principal on a number of occasions, most recently for the whole of Term Two in 2010. 

Jude holds a Masters degree in Education and Sports Management from Massey University majoring in Management as well as a Diploma in Physical Education from Otago University and Diploma in Teaching.  She began her career as a teacher of Physical Education, Mathematics and Science at Auckland Girls’ Grammar School, was then promoted to Head of the Physical Education Department at Palmerston North Girls’ High School before moving on to Massey University’s College of Education as a lecturer in early childhood, primary and secondary teacher education programmes. 

Mrs Fawcett was the CEO of Netball Singapore, the Singapore National Coach for five years and a lecturer at Nangyang Technological University.  On her return to New Zealand in 1998, she was the first General Manager of Netball Southland, home of the very successful Southern Sting.

In her spare time Jude is involved in the volunteer support of Swimming in the region, along with education and sport-specialist husband Dr Lewis McGill.  Her daughter Emily McGill, a Year 13 student at Chilton, is a national ranked swimmer.
