It's not all work and no play at Chilton. Opportunities to extend experiences beyond the classroom are everywhere.
Chilton offers a comprehensive Careers Education Programme as part of the core Health curriculum from Years 7 to 13.
The Careers Services are provided in conjunction with the Health department of the School, including a well-stocked Careers Library which is always open for student and parent use.
In addition to the services provided by the Careers Advisor, senior students have an individual interview with a senior staff member as they make course selections to ensure that their proposed programme is an appropriate match for their background, interests and possible future direction.
Mrs Di Brown, the Careers Advisor, is also the Dean of Year 13 and has years of experience advising students on the options available to them on leaving school.
The information and knowledge held on the huge variety of careers at students’ fingertips makes the Careers office a great source for students and their families alike. Parents and families are very welcome to make appointments to discuss tertiary course selection choices.
The Careers Advisor is also available for past Chilton students who come back to change course preferences or for a host of other reasons.
To contact the Careers Advisor, please email dbrown@chilton.school.nz or call her on 566 4089 ext 764.
This section of our website will hold relevant information throughout the year such as university open days, industry and military visits and other opportunities open to students to aid their career decisions.
