Programmes

It's not all work and no play at Chilton.  Opportunities to extend experiences beyond the classroom are everywhere.

Clubs and Societies

There is a wide variety of clubs and societies in addition to the many co-curricular performing arts and sporting activities.  Each one contributes to the opportunities a student can choose to engage in at Chilton, making life at School much more than purely an academic experience.

Examples of current thriving clubs and societies include:

  • various book clubs run by the library staff, read more about them here
  • student librarians programme
  • language club for Years 7 and 8 who host a number of events throughout the year, celebrating festivals and special days in other cultures
  • a Scholars' Society
  • Chess club
  • Audio-Visual Crew
  • Food Tech Angels
  • the Civil Defence team, who are well trained and have an important role in any emergency at School.

House activities also form a large part of student life, the four house captains, their deputies and committees organising a large number of events and lunchtime activities.

Committees run by senior students also organise many fundraising events towards charities of their choice, plus bring service and citizenship to the forefront of student’s minds in helping others in the community.
