FitzGerald Scholarship

Scholarships and annual prizes form an important part of our role within the School, particularly awarding the FitzGerald Scholarship.

FitzGerald Scholarship 2011-2012
The Old Girls' Association Scholarship Committee is very pleased to announce that the Chilton Old Girls' FitzGerald Scholarship for 2011 and 2012 has been awarded to Sarah Young, Poppy Cruickshanks and Kate Welch.

Previous recipients include Joanna Calvert-Murray and Katie Quirke-Luping in 2009/2010. 

Chilton Old Girls’ Association FitzGerald Scholarship Criteria:
1. A candidate must be the daughter, granddaughter or significant other of an Old Girl of either Chilton Saint James School or Chilton House School, entering or already attending the school at Year 7 or above.

2. ‘Significant other’ means niece, stepdaughter or any familial relationship as agreed on a case by case basis.

3. A candidate must not be the holder of any other Scholarship to Chilton Saint James School.

4. The Old Girl must be a current member of the Chilton Old Girls Association or join and remain a member on applying for the Scholarship and during the student’s time at Chilton Saint James School.

5. Candidates will not be required to sit an examination but may be called for a personal interview to take into account the student’s character, ability to converse, her participation, sporting and cultural activities, co-curricular activities, interests and current school reports.

6. The successful candidate will hold the Scholarship for two years, with the continuation into the second year being subject to a successful first year’s performance.

7. The Scholarship will pay a proportion of the tuition fees. The proportion amount to be decided at the time.

8. In the event that the Association is unable to award the Scholarship according to the criteria stated, or if funding does not allow it, the Association reserves the right not to make an award in one year.
