Top academic grades result from years of sustained excellent performance. Chilton students expect to achieve great results because they work towards them. They know that excellence is a habit, not a one-off event. Their efforts confirm the breadth of scholarship that makes Chilton an outstanding place for the education of young women.

Chilton's 2009 NCEA Results
At Chilton Saint James School a vertical senior timetable allows students to undertake study at Level 1, 2 or 3 from any Year level. Therefore we refer to the marks achieved at study levels, rather than by Year 11, 12 or 13. We emphasise at Chilton that learning is not about just passing, it is about achieving the very best you are capable of achieving.
To gain a Merit endorsement on an NCEA certificate, the student must have achieved at least 50 credits at Merit level. For an Excellence endorsement the student needed at least 50 credits at Excellence level.
