Academic challenge at Year 11 level

Chilton?s vertical approach to timetabling at senior level means that girls are able to move flexibly through the NCEA, accelerating in an area of strength if they wish or concentrating on an area of interest without sacrificing breadth.  Year 11 students select six subjects. 

All Year 11 students enrol in:
 

• English or ESOL
• Mathematics, Mathematics and Finance, or Advanced Mathematics 1
• Science
• Religious Education
• Physical Education and Health,

and select three subjects from either NCEA Level 1:

• Accounting
• Dance
• Drama
• Economics
• Food and Nutrition
• French
• Geography
• German
• History
• Information and Communications Technology
• Materials Technology
• Music
• Spanish
• Visual Arts including Design,

or NCEA Level 2 , subject to successful study at Level 1 or by application:
 

• Art History
• Dance
• Drama
• Economics
• Geography
• Food and Nutrition
• History
• Information and Communications Technology
• Materials Technology
• Music
• Physical Education.
