Structured Learning

Carefully structured indoor activities promote the foundations of reading, writing, language, numeracy, colour recognition, texture sensitivity, developing eye/hand co-ordination and fine motor control. Structured outdoor activities such as climbing, ball skills, carpentry and the use of sand and water – develop large motor skills, spatial knowledge, physical strength, balance, numerical, scientific and socialisation skills.

Each session is divided into large blocks of time for specific indoor and outdoor activities. These may include:

Music, Dance and Physical Education classes are an integral part of the programme. All preschoolers’ receive weekly classes with our specialist teachers.

Progress and Development

We encourage each child to develop to her or his fullest potential. To establish a strong collaboration between Preschool and home, regular assessment of each child’s progress is given to the parents by the qualified teaching staff. We encourage parents to visit often to share in the children’s learning programmes and to enjoy watching their on-going development. Staff are always available to discuss student individual progress with parents.


Preschool classes are accommodated in the spacious, purpose-designed premises in the Chilton Junior School, alongside the Years 1 – 6 classrooms and playground areas. Preschoolers also have access to the wider school facilities on the campus including the library, hall and sports facilities.
