A Day in the Life of a Primary Girl

A day in the life of a primary school student is a delightful blend of learning, creativity, and camaraderie.

The day commences with a warm welcome as students enter the school, setting a positive tone for the day. Classrooms are vibrant spaces where engaging lessons and interactive activities captivate young minds, fostering a love for learning.

Break times are filled with laughter and play, providing opportunities for socializing and building friendships.

As the day concludes, students carry with them the joy of discovery and the anticipation of another exciting day of exploration and learning.

Other Information

The pastoral care programme for the Primary School is a comprehensive and nuturing system designed to support the holistic development of students during this early phase of their education.  Our teaching staff get to know students very well and they offer dedicated and personalised support throughout the school year.

Our approach to supporting inquiring minds involves creating an open and supportive environment that encourages questions and a genuine love for learning.  Our experienced staff and specialist teachers strive to ignite the intellectual curiosity of our students.  We provide and facilitate opportunities for all students to pursue their interests and connect classroom concepts to real world situations.

We believe in the power of physical activity not only for promoting a healthy lifestyle but also for instilling values such as teamwork, discipline, and resilience. Our sports program offers a diverse range of activities, ensuring that every student can find a sport that resonates with their interests and talents.

Arts and culture take centre stage at our primary school, enriching the educational experience and fostering creativity among our students. Our commitment to a well-rounded education is reflected in a vibrant arts program that encompasses visual arts, performing arts, and cultural exploration. Students are encouraged to express themselves through various mediums, developing their artistic skills and discovering their unique voices. From painting to drama and music, our curriculum provides a diverse array of opportunities for students to explore their creative interests.

Transitioning from primary school to middle school is a carefully managed and supportive process at Chilton. We have established a transition program that helps family and whanau to understand the journey to middle school.  Information sessions and meetings with our skilled team of teachers will help guide and support students through this important stage of learning.
