Transport

Waterloo Interchange railway station is a short walk from the School. Students are able to travel by train to and from Wellington or Upper Hutt. Waterloo Interchange is also the terminus for a number of public bus routes, as is Bunny Street, beside the Westfield Mall – less than 10 minutes’ walk from the School.

Other buses stop at the Westfield Shopping Mall, which is located in central Lower Hutt, a five minute walk from the school. Students who live in Wainuiomata use a public bus to Waterloo Interchange in the mornings. In the afternoons, this bus stops by the School on Waterloo Road.

IMG_9693Students who live in Eastbourne and the Bays are able to access a school bus service, operated by Classic Coaches Bus Company. This service operates to and from the bus stop outside the School. Students living in the Whitby, Paremata, Plimmerton, Papakowhai and Pauatahanui areas use a bus service, operated by Runciman Motors (NZ Bus), for Chilton, St Oran’s, St Patrick’s College and Hutt International Boys’ School pupils. In the morning, these buses pick up students from the nearest public bus stop to their home and provide a service ‘to the door’ for each School. Runciman Motors (NZ Bus) provide a bus service for Chilton students only, from Upper Hutt and Silverstream, thus providing students in these districts with the choice to travel by bus or train.

Runciman collect students from public bus stops and bring them to School. Students are collected from the bus stop outside School at the end of the day, stopping at public bus stops on their return. Bus services are not privately contracted by the School.
